OVERVIEW

We work with regional shops on custom and semi-custom cabinet runs. Frameless European-style construction is the default — full-access interior, no face-frame to lose drawer width, and modern hardware that closes the same way at year 10 as year 1.

Cabinet shops in the Pacific Northwest have a real depth — solid-wood door fronts, lifetime hardware (Blum, Salice, Hettich), and the ability to ship within 8–14 weeks instead of the 16–22 weeks national semi-custom typically runs. We pass that lead time directly to project schedule.

Cabinets questions

FAQ
  • Q.01

Custom vs semi-custom vs stock — which fits me?

Stock is fine for rentals and tight budgets ($200–$400/lf). Semi-custom is the sweet spot for most kitchens ($500–$800/lf) — broad door/finish selection, sized in 3" increments. Custom is right when you want non-standard dimensions, exotic veneer, or specific hardware integration ($800–$1,500+/lf).
  • Q.02

    How long do cabinets take?

Stock: 2–4 weeks. Semi-custom (local PNW shop): 8–14 weeks. Custom: 12–20 weeks. Lead time is usually the project critical path.
  • Q.03

Can you reface my existing cabinets?

Yes if the boxes are solid and the layout works. Refacing runs 40–60% of replacement cost and works best on plywood boxes. Particleboard boxes are not worth refacing — replace.
  • Q.04

Inset vs overlay doors — what's the difference?

Overlay (full-overlay frameless) is the modern default — clean lines, maximum interior access, lower cost. Inset doors sit flush inside the frame — traditional aesthetic, more handcraft, +20–35% cost.
